Welcome to Spot a Stray. This web site is devoted to helping the thousands of lost, found, and stray animals that roam our streets each day. With your help, we hope to unite as many lost pets as possible. Spot a stray provides you with an easy way to help these animals and their owners. With the use of online maps, gps coordinates, and email, we provide you the tools needed to reunite these lost animals with their worried owners. Here is what Spot a Stray can do for you.

You have found an animal and you picked them up…

now you want to reunite them with their owners. You can create a found animal posting. Just take a picture of the animal and upload it here. When posting, you will be asked to specify the exact location you found this animal using google maps. This will help anyone searching for their lost pet by allowing them to do a map search.

You have lost your pet…

you can use Spot a Stray’s search page to perform a search and see if anyone has posted a picture of your pet. If you find a match, you can send that poster an email using our email form and request more information. Alternately, you can make a lost animal posting which will include a picture of your pet and the exact location where he/she was lost.

You see a stray but cannot pick up the animal…

Spot a Stray allows you to post pictures of stray animals that you see roaming your neighborhood or on the side of the road. These animals have no identification tags and may not let you near them so rescue is not possible, but posting a picture may help them by making them visible to visitors searching our site.
